Lemony Snicket

My sister is one of my favourite people on this planet. Quite frankly, my husband pretty much only just pips her to the post... but even then there are some days... (kidding honey, promise!)

So why the odd title to this post? Well, she has been on my mind today (as she is most days), so I decided to go ahead and dedicate this post to her.

Oh, that still doesn't explain it? Well, on the golden rare occasion that I get some longed for sister time with her, we are usually to be found in the kitchen (shocker, I know) whipping up a mountain of crispy squid (I'll leave that for another day) and what she has always called "Lemony Snicket".

I would love to pretend that this is some complicated, ingenious, award winning concoction that we dreamt up together... but alas, it's not. "Lemony Snicket" is simply mayonnaise, lemon zest, lemon juice, and minced garlic. I'm not even going to bother writing out a "recipe", because there isn't one- simply assemble the aforementioned ingredients and combine them to your taste. So really it's just garlicky lemony mayonnaise (can you see what she did there? Clever, huh?)!

Now the real question is whether you use Hellman's mayo (as she says) or Heinz (as I say).... discuss.
